The company specializes in managing marketing communications projects, including corporate identity, product line and individual product names, logos, positioning statements, packaging, websites, social media, publicity, advertising, direct mail, collateral, in-store merchandising, promotions, and trade show exhibits.
Mrs. Carpenter is a proven leader in marketing and operations, with over 40 years of experience in the personal computer and consumer packaged goods industries. Now retired, Mrs. Carpenter was most recently Chief Marketing Officer of Bellamax, Inc., a venture-funded digital image enhancement service.
Mrs. Carpenter also served on the Board of Directors of Enpro, Inc. She was a 2000 YWCA of Santa Clara Valley Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Honoree. For several years, Mrs. Carpenter co-led Merrin Information Services "Selling off the Shelf" seminar with Seymour Merrin. She is the author of several published articles and was profiled in the April 1998 issue of Working Woman magazine.
During her tenure as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Caere Corporation, Mrs. Carpenter introduced OmniPage Pro 10, the latest version of this best-selling winner of 90 awards, which resulted in the highest quarterly software revenue in Caere's 24-year history. While Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for FileMaker, Inc., formerly Claris Corporation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apple, Inc., Mrs. Carpenter launched Mac OS 8 and introduced FileMaker Pro 4.0, named "Best Business Software of 1998" by the Software Publishers Association. While Vice President of Marketing for Brøderbund Software, she introduced numerous award-winning, best-selling titles, including Myst (the best-selling computer game of all time), The Print Shop Deluxe CD Ensemble, Kid Pix Studio, Math Workshop, The Amazing Writing Machine, several Living Books, and 3D Home Architect. Mrs. Carpenter also played a pivotal role in the successful relaunch of Brøderbund's original Carmen Sandiego series.
Prior to Brøderbund, Mrs. Carpenter was Vice President of Marketing and Manufacturing and the second employee at Ashlar Incorporated, a venture-funded software company. She was responsible for introducing Ashlar Vellum, a cross-platform computer-aided design program. Mrs. Carpenter also held key positions at Software Publishing Corporation, ranked among the top 10 largest U.S. software companies in the 1980s. There she served as Director of Marketing Services, as well as Product Marketing Manager and Group Product Manager for the PFS: series of personal productivity applications.
Her marketing roots are in the consumer packaged goods industry. Before entering the PC software field in 1982, Mrs. Carpenter worked in brand management for Procter & Gamble, as well as in various capacities for McKesson, Inc. and R. J. Reynolds' Del Monte Frozen Foods subsidiary.
Mrs. Carpenter holds a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business with Honors in Marketing from Indiana University.
